Got outside this morning to catch the Sun before the clouds rolled in. All the details are on the image.
Thanks for looking.

Nice work Tony, some nice detail in there. How are you focusing, as I believe that the 400D doesn’t have Live View?
Cheers

Thanks Dennis,
I focus through the viewfinder until I think it is not too bad, then use Focus Assist and reel off a heap of shots until I'm happy. I delete the poor ones later.
This last session I ran Registax and it gave me 55 to stack! I changed the quality to 97% and the result was 17... and a clearer image. I always wanted the 4" to be the lunar and solar scope, and I also wanted to get some sort of system down pat for 2012... a long way off I know but I tend to procrastinate until the last moment.
On another note, I noticed on SOHO that the area that I suspected a spot to appear seems to show one now. With luck I can get some data tomorrow and I will have 4 straight days... animation next... if I can get the rotation right... I didn't set up for that but I will give it a go.

Thanks Matt,
Seems like another spot is rotating around in the northern hemisphere.
