We don't do VD.
Got married on Feb 9th in 2002, so we do that instead. :)
Same day Princess Margaret died.
Had our reception at the Naval & Military Club (The IN & OUT). Probably half the blokes there had, errrrrr, been 'aquainted' :) with her. Much "sorrow" and drinking downstairs!

I never buy flowers I think that is totally and completely a waste of money if you are going to buy something I think it should be something that lasts. Flowers can be found anywhere and I think it means more when you have to go hunting and gathering to supply them rather than pulling out the wallet.:)
I was enjoying the flowery thread with only the guys chatting on it ;)
I think Valentines Day is too commercial, hate the hype about it, but would never say no to a bouquet of flowers.
Was in Paris a few years ago on VD, and no hype over there!!

Hi All, :)
Years ago I was in the habit of plucking a few flowers from someones front garden, while I was enroute to see my Sweetie. This went on for quite some time.
One evening there was a shout "Hey you!" An Italian saw me and chased me. I was quite fit and made an easy escape. :D It shook me up a little but still continued the practice.
These days I don't present my Sweetie with flowers on Valentine's Day. I give her a flower or two every week.;):D Purchased ones. Too much excitment to acqire them the old way ;)
Cheers Marty

 I don't think so.
I don't need Feb 14th to tell Alice that I love her, she gets surprises during the year when I feel like making a special time for her.
Valentines day is nothing more than a cash grab from the florists.

We don't usually bother with valentine's day. After 14 years of marriage we know how we feel.
However, pagan ritual or not, I was pleasantly surpised when a dozen roses was delivered to my door last Sunday, particularly as my hubbie is 13000km away with his work, and has been since last November :)

Tick tick, counting down until he comes home..
