My mount isn't getting any power. And yes the battery pack is charged;)

So i plug in hand controller and power cable as i usually do. Try turn it on and no power goes to hand controller. The light on the power cable comes on so i'm assuming that's not the problem. Anyone able to help??:confused2:

Edit
Just looking again and there is no power going to mount at all. I bought it 2nd hand but still have the warranty but this is very frustrating. This is the clearest night and my first chance to get out in a few weeks and now this. I want my dob back:(

Do you have a multimeter to test if there is any voltage at the tip you plug into the mount?

No, unfortunately not.

You should be able plug the power cord directly into the hand controller. I have done this with my EQ6 controller. If it doesn't work then your problem will be with the cable. If it does then the problem is with the mount.

See page 13 of the Synscan manual (http://www.skywatchertelescope.net/swtsupport/Instruction_Manuals/SynScan%20240406V2.pdf) for details

If you don't have a multimeter, you can still test the power supply by plugging it into another 12 volt DC device with the same polarity (tip positive). The power supply is a possible but not the most likely source of your problem. I have recently had to send my HEQ5Pro handset back to be replaced under warranty because of an almost identical problem. And I know of at least one other HEQ5Pro owner who has had a similar problem in the past couple of months.
Take the handset to your dealer and have him test it.

Andrew,
just an idea:
I had the same problem for a while. It turned out that the connection between the plug and the mount had come adrift.
You would need to dismantle the mount case to determine whether or not this is the cause tho'.
Good luck!!
