I've had a quick recon of the sky to determine if it's clear enough to set up tonight.
There's a few big fluffy clouds on the horizon, but over head is brilliantly blue.
So how clear is clear enough??
Would you balk at a few clouds??
Or are you ever the optimist??

Me? I'm going to set up.

There is one way to guarantee one will never see anything - sit at home worrying about the conditions. If I can, I go and give it a shot!

It's looking better every time I look up.
Scope and mount are up and balanced.
I'll align the finder while it's still light, then it's time to wait.
The scopes in the shade, so it should reach ambient by the time I start.

Hopefully tomorrow/saturday night presents an opportunity to do some imaging.. :)

It depends on what type of clouds they are and wind direction. If it's cumulus, and the wind is blowing from inland, then I'd say get out there.

If it's that insipid grey layer cloud gathering offshore, stay inside. That will kill you in record time, usually just after you completed the 10 trips to get everything set up.

not a cloud in sight
Here's hoping everything rolls along smoothly technically.

I am in Belgium and it is NOT clear here! It is -5 and has been snowing! Not imaging weather. I am also struggling with the AZERTY format keyboard. Hope you have good imaging.

Nettie,

It could be Clear when you first set-up, and the when the equipment cools down, what do you know, the clouds decide to come in on you, so you don't know weather to wait it out, or start to break it down.

:thanx:,

Tom

You could have come to Sydney, Chris. We don't remember what clear night skies mean. You could have 25-30 deg and 300% humidity. No doubt someone has an AZERTY keyboard you could borrow if you really want that frustration, or you can pull the keycaps off a US layout and rearrange them.
