When a pretty creek with waterfalls that may or may not be in flow is only forty minutes away, it sometimes pays to re-visit it again and again. Today, my good friend Humayun and I rock-hopped up and down the creek, we discovered pretty little hidey-holes of water in motion previously missed.

The daylight in the valley dropped quickly until I had gone from F/16 at ISO 100, rapidly down to F/4 at ISO 200. Nice long exposures up to 30 seconds in the twilight produces some lovely results.

I am hankering for some new creeks though, some with more water, larger drops and more moss and ferns.

Barry,

Nice shots, I especially like the second one with the swirly pool.

Thanks Frank and Adam. I need to find a new creek in Canberra with running water and more greenery.

awwww....shucks Troy, you think I'm young enough for school. Flattery will get you places my son..:P

I'm a bit sore today as during the trip I went flat on my a** and now have a very red spotty arm and hand full of stinging nettles broken off just under the skin...:mad2:

I really enjoyed these Baz. Looks like a fun location to shoot.

I'm fascinated by your country, such a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing these, makes me wish it was spring here.

Great shots mate. Just got back from the bush myself and hour ago. Was shooting frames very similar to these. Just waiting for the two CF cards I filled to download so I can process them.

That swirl in shot two is very similar to an image I posted a while back. I would like to see number 2's colours bumped like number three. The way you bought the reds out is great.

I'll have to get myself down to Canberra to meet up with you guys sometime or other.

Fortunatley I have decent 5 foot falls within an hour walk from my house. Just need to drag myself out of bed earlier as I have a feeling i was too late with my shoot today and perhaps the lighting will be good in 4 shots out of the 550 odd taken. I'll post todays efforts later tonight once i'm done.

Mitchell, cheers mate. Can't wait to see those pics of yours.
