View Full Version here: : Not The Common Rego Plate

Hi All, :)

I'd assume that we have all seen some rego plates that are out of the ordinary at times.
I invite you all to add to this one anything that you believe to be witty or different.

The one below I wonder whether it is meant to have a full stop, exclamation mark or question mark after it.

Cheers Marty

"me? lost?"

Why won't it let me type that in all caps?

Hi Trevor, :)

Cool Plate. Whatever motivated you to get that one?

My kids used to ask me, "What was life like growing up with dinosaurs Dad?"

Having a collection of meteorite and dinosaur stuff, I originally wanted "CRATER"...taken, "METEOR"....taken, maybe "NGC104"...nup. In the end it was a toss up between "D1NOSR" and "JUP1TR" (which is still available).

This one was in the West End this Lunch - I assume it isn't referring to the owners parking skills

If that is how well he/she can drive, they don't deserve that car! It reminds me of a mate seeing a specialist leave a hospital in his Lambo, crunching every gear change.

We have angled parking in Walcha, REAR TO KERB, how many QLD's do i see parking front to kerb? Just about every single one!

Everyone knows Queenslanders can't park properly!

So it WAS referring to the owners parking ability

Hi Bart, :)

I was under the assumption that only 6 characters were allowed on a plate. Yours has 7. That assumption is obviously wrong.

Years ago a certain well known music critic bought a Rolls Royce. His plate was "4 MY EGO".

I don't have a photo of that one it was in an Adelaide Newspaper. (Molly Meldrum)

Only in WA. The rest of us are limited to 6.

WARNING: Boring fact alert!

In Qld, 6 digits are the norm. However on occasion 7 digit plates are issued as a revenue raising exercise. Further, the Qld Transport licencing system is actually capable of issuing an 8 digit plate with no further modification, but, to my knowledge this has yet to be done.

How dull am I

Hi Johnathon, :)

That clears up things a bit, and well put.

Came across another one today. Black Jaguar that roars. We followed it for sometime.

A number plate here in Roma is 5MA5H3D (SMASHED). I will see if I can get a picture sometime when he's not looking.

My father had a friend with BO11OX

Sort of pushing the envelope towards offensive and eventually taken away from you, though.

Funny that.... I have a friend who lived in Cardiff and saw the exact same nr plate!!!
The reason he told me was cause I was telling him what nr plate I was getting....

Hi All, :)

This one made me laugh. I wonder how such a mistake may have been made. Also the legality of it????

It's probably deliberate.

To my knowledge you are only required to display the number plate with no obstructions etc. I am not aware of any wording that requires it to be the right way up.

Technically okay, but morally bad. I agree I am surprised too.:eyepop:

Hey leave Qlders alone - we tailgate, do not indicate and change multiple lanes without looking but we always hit the gutters when we park!
