The Sun is slowly starting to rise here so conditions are gradually improving.

These are 2 from Feb 5th.

A Large Hedgerow prom on the SE ir really dwarfs the Earth this one and an area that bears monitoring on the NE

Both with my PST-B90 at f/15 (F=1350mm) DMK21 cam

Ah... there's a hole in cloud over Ireland everybody!:P

Lovely shots as usual, Dave!

I haven't seen the sun since before my B1200 blocking filter arrived:rolleyes:.

Thanks for posting Dave - wonderful images. I could stare at solar images all day. They're just mesmerising.

Tell me Dave, the DMK21 is a mono camera, so how do you add color? In a PhotoShop application, or do you image through a filter?

I'm not sure how Dave has done it but there are probably several ways to do it. The method I use is the play with the individual RGB levels in Photoshop... rather than adjust the input levels (which is the usual way levels adjustments are used), I adjust the output levels.:) I leave red full strength, back the green off a bit and the blue off a lot and play with it till I get the appropriate "orange" colour.;)

I guess you could also convert it from monochrome to duotone and apply the appropriate pantone colour scheme ( hmmm then again that won't give the right sort of result... or will it? I'll have to experiment just for the sake of it...:P)

I like the way you show Earth to put it all in perspective. Thankyou.

Thanx Folks

Al you got it. I use the midtones slider (middle one) in levels and as you say blue to the right a good bit, green to the right not so much of a good bit and keep red as is. The same effect with curves. you can add a color balance layer also and adjust it after levels.

btw thanx for all the bad seeing;)

Very nice how you put the earth next to the pic as a reference. These prominences are huge! :eyepop:
