Are the comps here a 1 entry job or can we put more than one in. I have lots of pics of things that fly, from birds to planes hot air balloons.

There's just something special about polished metal aircraft with big ol' radial engines...love at first sight.

Must have been migration season in August lat year... that were loads of sightings... and spectators, watching the scope fields over their cup of coffee :D

Whoo... say it every time but THIS month is a cracker :eyepop:.

Adrian

You have captured a Hummingbird Moth. I had a few around our Geisha Girl plant a while ago and managed the following shot out of a stack of missed shots (I think your shot shows it at a better angle for ID). They are certainly flighty and difficult to get close to.

Thanks Andrew I have searched for the ID for this bug for awhile with no luck.
Yes they are a very flighty bug and everytime I tried to get close it took off. The only way I could get the photo was to wait for it to come back while I waited with the camera ........ And hoped.

Dennis,

Your emotive and touching portrait of that pod of dolphins is one of the best nature photos I've seen in a while.

I know where my vote's going this month.

Alan, where'd you take that shot? Looks like a Canberra bomber if I'm not wrong.

I really have no idea, the other half and i were just driving way inland to Ballandean from Brisbane and there they were. There was a pair of them just sitting there.

Congratulations Steve_E on winning the February challenge. Nice work on the bald eagle and closely followed by Paul and Andrew with the lovely waterbird and hoverfly.

Baz.
