Ex TC Olga didnt stop me from getting home tonight from Tibooburra in far western NSW.

3 Inchs of steady rain for a country side that is dead, the country might green up a bit.

My car was a bit muddy so what better than give it a natural car wash. The crossing was only 150 deep.

Cheers Kev.

Oooo nice! That reminds me of a trip to fraser island. We nearly got stuck on the beach on our way to eurong coz we missed the barge, were late and the tide caught up with us from the south. I floored the 4WD to get out of the rising water. All the way I was thinking "don't stop...don't stop" ... and the worst was that my mate who lent me the car said "I'll just ask you for one thing ... don't turn it over in the sea, hahaha!...." . I can garantee you nobody was laughing in the car and we all had skid marks when we arrived in eurong.

It was absolutely fantastic. Just one thing when you get off the barge and the bloke screams "left! left!" (inland track) on the speakers don't go right (beach) ... bloody french drivers...

Looked like fun Kev :)
Marc, I nearly needed a holiday to recover from Fraser Island first time I went :) Was in a similar situation trying to get back to the barge and keeping an ever watchful eye on the tides. Didn't want to end up like this poor chap:

Wow.... Just looking at this pic sent cold shivers down my spine. The 4WD I was driving was very similar, same color and we very nearly ended up like that. At one stage we had water nearly mid-doors and I was dodging floating logs and other stuff in front trying no to stop rolling. Problem is that the beach is not a beach south of Eurong. Some parts are a clear vertical cut on the left (1~1.5m high) in sand and there's no way a 4WD will climb that so you can't go left, you can't go right and you can't go back. I feel for those poor buggers
