What do you do when you wife rings you during the day and says she can't find our 12 year old Malteze Lasoapso cross female dog called Blossom.
Well with the wife having MS she really can't get around to much these days I said just call out she'll come or have a look over the fence too see if she got into the neighbours yard.
Just last year we lost our side fence in a storm which was replaced with a colourbond one and their was a slight gap at the bottom not all the way along only in sections where the flower beds are.
Now the little one has always loved too dig especailly when she's been left outside although she had the younger bigger Cherry to play with I think it was her way of getting attention from me as I'd go out side to clean her mess up and tell her off for digging regularly especially on hot days.
Today she finally got under the fence why today of all days I don't know it wasn't that hot in Perth today and for her effort she was attacked and killed by our neighbours bit bull cross female ***** unbeknown to us until our daughter ventured next door too see if they had seen her when she got home from work.
Suffice it to say my two adult daughters where really cut up and I'm shedding a tear writing this and pondering if it was my fault for not blocking off the gap more. Burying a pet is not fun you hope when they die its through natural causes not being ripped apart.
Why Oh why do we get so attached to our pets
