Hi Guys, this is probably a story for the men folk of this forum but females are free to comment or address this post. ;)

I, and my dear wife Alice were walking down the street in Ballarat a couple of days ago, and a very attractive young woman was approaching from the other direction toward us. :shrug:

She was young, very well dressed, in white tight jeans and lovely top, hair in place, and just looked the picture of a young mans desire, just gorgeous, probably about 20.

Yep, I looked as she went past, then turned and looked as she did go past, and the back was as good as the front. ;)

Well, Alice caught me, and said she is young enough to be your grand daughter, well I know dear, but she did look pretty nice. ;)

So my question is this. :shrug:

If a 20 year old male happened to befriend her and she went home with him, nothing would be said.

If a 30 year old male befriended her and went home with her, it too would be accepted to a point.

If a 40 year old befriended her and went home with her, he would be a cradle snatcher, and it would be frowned upon.

But If I befriended her I'm classed as a dirty old man. :shrug:

Seriously my vision of a nice young woman dose no change with age, how do you guys feel. :shrug:

I did not want to sleep with her I just saw her beauty. ;)

Admiring the human form is just such a natural thing. Its innate almost. If fine grooming and well dressing didnt come about all in the name of being noticed ... then Im not here. People do this stuff to stand out and would be having a rethink if no-one was paying any attention. Im not talking about the obvious ogler who's blatantly undressing you with their eyes, but rather the person who appreciates the vista, or is perhaps a little envious of it.

I was in the exact same situation last week Leon. My wife had a go at me for double taking on a
pretty young lady as we walked down the street. I pointed out to my wife that she indeed has been
known to check out the occasional handsome fellow, whereupon she said, with a smile on her face,

"Oh, I'd better stop acting offended then."

Amen to that!

But it does bring to mind a small incident that happened a few weeks ago.
My sister and I were admiring Craig Lownes' calender photo, he was looking rather scrummy in it too. When I went to work shortly after I literally physically ran into the man in question as I walked in the front door.
Feeling rather flustered, I went to my work station, looked up and there he was again. :lol: Incoherently ga ga would best describe my reaction.

Now I don't condone this behavior at all, but if you want to honor your wife, then don't make her feel bad by blatantly double-taking in front of her. Either that or don't do it at all.

I am just as guilty as the next bloke and it's a hard habit to break after years of not even caring what my GF/wife thought. I just used to tell her it is natural and get over it, if I stop looking then you better start worrying.

If you read Alan Pease's books about the physiological differences between men and women, he tells us that the reason why a bloke often can't find something in the fridge is that their power of (visual) concentration is sort of tunnel-like in it's projection. So in other words, we have to scan everywhere, - left to right and up and down to make sure we've covered the whole area.

Whereas when you call your wife to come and take a look, her visual power of concentration can take in a much larger area at once, so she doesn't need to scan like we do.

So that would explain why they can spot us perving, but we don't see them doing it. :thumbsup:

Leon, it's natural for people to look at other people who they find attractive. It means nothing. We all have eyes. Your wife should be more concerned if you stop looking and lose interest. If my wife looks at an attractive man, I really don't care - I can see that the man is handsome too, so why shouldn't she look.
