Beautiful work as usual Dave,

Topaz Detail seems most interesting, Dennis has used it to great effect on the Moon and it seems to work well for Solar images. I have tried it on the planets but for that particular application I have other software that does a lot better job, that said, it seems to work exceptionally well on terrestrial images.

Nice work David, although it looks a little "unnatural" for my personal taste? I love the inclusion of our home planet, what a dramatic sense of scale!

Cheers

Hi Dave

Sorry, I should have been more specific.

The main “processing” feature that caught my attention was that in some regions of the solar disc, the image appeared too 3D compared to others that I had viewed recently on Ice In Space. I have seen this effect on (terrestrial) photos that I have taken when I have been too aggressive with Topaz.

However, as I have never taken an H alpha solar image, consider it an arm chair astronomer’s view!

thanx Dennis (v important people give constructive critisism - its the best way to learn).

Will reprocess it less agressively, the sun is still too low here so detail is hard to come by - so I tend to over sharpen a bit.

Hi Dave

I like version 2 - not too tweaked and great colour!

Thanks for revisiting it!

Second image is not bad Dave.

Nice repro Dave – I also prefer the later yellow tone too. You’ve done very well to pluck this one out of the air – I assume that the Sun only gets up to around 11 or 12 degrees above the horizon at mid day in the deeper winter months!

Cheers
