Well with November virtually over, it is only 4 months to SPSP.
Anna and I are going to book this week, so it's time to start planning.
Who is going or planning to go from IIS?
What are you intentions, to observe as an IIS contingent? Or observe on your own?
Do you plan to camp as a group? Or camp on your own?
Just a few idea's to throw around. Now's the time to start organising.

Yep, definitely planning to go, though I haven't booked yet. I know Rod is planning to go too, and i'm sure John Bambury will be there, maybe Andrew Murrell too.
I'd love to set up my observing area next to my IIS buddies. SPSP05 was great with the half dozen people we had, chatting, sharing views through eyepieces, sharing eyepieces etc.
I'd love to camp as a group with my IIS buddies, share our tables, cooking equipment, facilities etc, it'll make it a very enjoyable weekend.
Of course that's not to say I won't be mixing and mingling with others at the SPSP, getting to know guys from other societies, looking through some other people's scopes.
And of course spreading the good word about IIS, handing out stickers maybe? :)
I probably can't make it, might be in Rockhampton at that time with my 13"

better take your telescope as well, remember the seeing is great up there, so a telescope is a necessity!!!

I will have a think on this, fair old drive for me, but would be worth it.
There is another March get together planned I believe, a little closer for me. We'll see!

I am planning on going this year if all goes to plan. As for arrangements well we will have to see closer to the time.
Camping on site and sharing facilities is the way to go. Its a real way to get to know the other people on the forum.

The half dozen of us last year was a most layed back and relaxing time together, thoroughly enjoyed it.
The sharing of tables, cooking equipment etc. is a great idea. With the pooling of resources it means we can all cut back on the amount we need to bring. Leaves more room for Astro gear. :)
