M42+M43-ED80 combined images

Hi All,
The other night when I took M33, I got a few images of M42+M43 also (before the moon came up, at 2130 Hrs.) and ive tried combining them in photoshop, it does improve the overall image a bit, but adds the dark blobs same as the M33 picture, and yes I do remove a DF from each exposure before combining them, two at a time, then combine the results also, anyway this is where the dark blobs come from, the single image of M42 does not have these artifacts, looks like ill have to concentrate on learning how to use Images Plus and see if thats better (im certain it is), all exposures were 10 Min. at ISO-800, guided with the MX7C on the LX200, First picture is 2 x 10 Min. added, second picture 4 x 10 min. added, I posted the single picture of M42 on this forum last week, waiting for a good clear night to try M33 on the LX200 at F-6.

Nice images.
I get the darn dark blobs too when subtracting a DF with Photoshop I wish someone would write some nice simple to use software that just did dark subtraction properly, and nothing else, as Photoshop does everything else for me nicely. Perhaps if a Photoshop plugin could be made it would be great :)

Thanks for the comments, and yes ANDREW it was with the Canon EOS300D (modified- by me).

Re stacking, combining pictures, I think Images Plus will do the trick, but takes some learning how, I tried IRIS, but too much for me, would be fine on Webcam pictures, all automatic.........I think the best way to go with DSLR pictures is to seperate them into LRGB, work with the L frame, then recombine (this is what I do with FITs files ex the MX7C), all very time consuming, when you look at it, although CCD/CMOS imaging is faster than Film by the time you take into consideration the DSLR type processing time im certain they would work out the same total Imaging/Processing time in the end, have a look on AstronomyDaily I noticed a Pix of M31 taken on film, he says 30 Sec. Exp.????????, fantastic picture.

Hi All,
Well ALEX last month we had 160mm of rain, the dam is full as are the tanks, the grass is high and the goats have more than enough feed, so ive arranged for no rain (Hi Hi) we are getting the cloud without the rain now which is worse, last summer I had very little in the way of clear nights, hope this ones better.

ITCHY- did you learn how to use IP from the Videos ???.
