As a bloke who loves photographing the moon, I'd have to say that you've done very well here Tim. Congratulations! It's smooth, well focused but losing it at the limb, and that's because the moon has real depth and is not universally placed at "infinity" by any means. Tone is very nice and gradual. Colour is natural and pleasant. You could probably adjust your levels and darken it a bit at 8 o'clock, but otherwise very nice!
Mike - it look like a single frame shot at ISO125 and 1/30th sec.
:thanx:
Three exposures - Since the C8 is not so sharp at the very edges, I needed to make a mosaic in photoshop. :)
Thanks - wrt the exposure at 8 OC, I will have a play with it - I think your probably on the money. ;)
Lovely shot Tim !
How are you finding the 7D?
I love mine but there sure is a learning curve, it's so customizable.
Can't wait to give it a go on the moon.
Well done.
The 7D is great - not sure if its significantly better than the 40D for astro stuff, but in terms of AF and overall handling, its a very sweet camera. Battery life is excellent too.
