I want to get the lens on my Tak cleaned. I'm not keen to do it myself as I have no knowledge of such things but would like tips on anyone trustworthy in Brisbane who can do it.

I've heard the horror stories when others have done this but it needs to be done by a professional. See the pic, it's getting worse :(

Robin - surely not! :( Are you sure these are not due to spots on your sensor rather than on the objective? To appear on an image like that, in semi-focus, they'd have to be close to the sensor I'd have thought... Either there or on a close filter or F/R... :confused2:

Agreed. Any grime on the objective would be too unfocussed to be visible like that on the image. It must be on the sensor or something closer like a cover glass on the sensor compartment.

I cleaned my TAK objective for the first time in 6 years recently after being similarly reluctant and it was simple and safe. Make up a small batch of 60% isopropyl alcohol (Diggers brand from Bunnings), 40% water and one drop of plain dishwashing detergent. Dab on with no pressure with soft tissues with no additives. One gentle wipe and dispose of each as you use it. Don't put excess liquid near the edges. In the end it was easy and very effective.

My bad, they are on another image, in the same orientation, that I shot through the FS60. I didn't even consider the sensor, I mean the camera is only 3 weeks old. Looks like I can side step lens cleaning again

Thank you gents.
