Good to see some clear sky! Took this the other night of the Horshead and Flame Nebula. Also, first time I have used my new Astronomik LRGB and 12nm Ha filter!

The image was taken through an ED80 with DSI III Pro, guided.

Ha/L, HaR, G,B
15/30, 15/15, 15, 15min
all 3min exposure times
Total time 105min
Camera was running at 28.5DegC

PS post processing was curves, levels, saturation

Lovely image Paul, considering the CCD temprature you have done an almighty job of controlling the noise.

Well done.

All, thanks for the encouragment and comments.

Doug - yeah amazing really! I was expecting much more noise. All I can say is imagine what it would look if it was cooler. So I am now on a mission to provide some "external" cooling to the camera (Fan and A/C unit) to try and get the temp down to say 10degC on hot days.

Lester, Frank, Pete and Gary - cheers!

Frank - Re the smooth colours, moving up from the MEADE standard LRGB Filters to the Astronomik Type 2c is something I should have done a long time ago!

You are in some mighty fine company on the Astronomics website, but is it really you  they say you are from Italy :screwy:

Its me alright - and yes Italy is where my family comes from :), but - they assumed I took the image in Italy! I wish! Took the image from Sydney Australia. Will have to let them know! Quite funny really...
