Hi All,
We had a few hours of clear sky on Friday night so I tried M33 with the ED80+ Canon, its a faint object (low surface brightness) and this picture is 4 x 10 Min Exp. added in photoshop, but there seems to be some processing artifacts (dark blobs Etc.) after the adding process, by comparison the B/W picture was taken with the guiding camera (MX7C) with an exposure of 3 Min. so next trial will be with the Canon on the LX200-10"-F10 but at F6, dont know if it will get the whole 1 degree of M33 but will be a better comparison (LX200 vs ED80).

cheers.......Jim

Nice shot Jim. :cool2: Did you use a flat field on your canon shot? Or a dark subtraction. I don't know if its my imagination but there looks to be a smudge along the bottom left edge. Could the artifacts be from dust or marks on the image train somewhere or the could the "spots" near the center of the image be from a dark subtraction (if you did one)

Just had another look and the dark spots near the center look too big to be dark frame "artifacts".
