Had a chance to get some data on this one...
Such a dim object and at this time of the year, never seem to get a good crack at it, time and weather wise.
Guess lucky just to be out enjoying the evening air.
As usual, this object gives me gradients... not to mention depleted vision from being at the monitor for long stretches... always a mother to get them sorted without loosing weighted colours.... yes a challenge this little bloke!

Hit the thumb nail to my front page if you'd like a peek..

All the best.. hope you're able to get out..

Slight elongation in stars

otherwise not too shabby

When I first saw the image I thought the star/spike shape looked like those I get through my RC

Beautiful Rich, I thought that NGC number rang a bell! Imaged this last year before our big move!
Colors look spot on and nice detail showing in the arms

Hi Trev, yeah, this time of the year when seeing is quite poor, lots of chasing/refraction.. thus the guiding errors(plus I was messing with my mounts alignment.. with a heavy load it prefers slight altitude misalignment to get Ra behaving.. messed with it these couple of nights.. should have left well alone.. by the time I sorted it back I was on my final B channel) also the spikes.. usually thinner with better seeing. Never seem to get this sort of thickness or colour banding through them on good nights... reminiscent of my old VC200L days (thick vanes)
Always something in this hobby of ours.... mmmm the perfect image.. we get close but still we dream:rolleyes:

Thanks Gaz... just one of those faint gals that really are hard to get well this time of the year for me... but try we must!
Gradients were a real pain, but managed to tame them satisfactorily.

Thanks Frank, happy enough as there was a lot of computer time spent with the little time spent on data and also removing the gradients... so reward enough to get the background neutral.

Thanks Steve!
Hope your getting better and able to stay out in the observatory longer.
Still this heat that you're copping along with us is a little tedious at times.
Then when we get a change, it's like winter...:screwy:
Hope autumn is good!

Thanks guys for taking a look and for your kind comments
All the best for now
