View Full Version here: : Spirit still stuck.
Poor little Mars Rover, Spirit, which landed 6 years ago, is stuck in the sand, which chances of it getting, out minimal now.
Opportunity is still zooming along collecting data.

I did read somewhere that if this is the case there is still some important work it can, something about the atmosphere iirc that can only be done if the rover stays put! And since they were supposed to be mobile they didn't want to spare the time. Still, it is sad news.

Well it's official now. No more roving for Spirit.
I hope the solar panels and batteries can last through winter.

Do not worry, if Spirit can make it through winter it will still be useful!
Pretty good toy - I think it has a 3 month life expectancy!
Yep its time for us humans to get to Mars and bring Spirit home
Where's a Martian with a tractor when you need one.
