You've all seen this before but it's a first for me - managing to capture and bring out the amazing filamentary dust lanes in and around the whole Sword structure. 50mins with QHY8 through ED127, OAG with QHY8,PHD, DSS then levels and stuff in PS.
Enjoy.

Nice one Peter, you have revealed the fainter regions well.

Yes, there is certainly a lot of dust in that there region.

err?..signal to noise, colour and saturation could be better though Pete

Good grief, yes. I got excited finding all that nice dust.
I've had another try.

Peter,

Good effort there.

In future, compositionally (bearing in mind I know how difficult it is to frame this region as, I, shot this with the ED127 and 40D combination), it would be nicer to have the Running Man completely in the field of view. As it is, there's a bit of dead space (pardon the pun) to the right of the composition.

Processing-wise, you might like to try and keep the shadows in check as it appears there is a severe amount of clipping in the shadows (blacks); there is an enormous amount of dust surrounding both nebulae and they're being killed off due to the clipping.

Nice Peter. You know you're starting to go really deep when all the surrounding dust becomes visible with these 2 objects. I can see why you were excited!

Very nice Peter. The amount of dust in this area blows me away.
