Here's my version of this elusive target. Captured with the WO FLT132 with Flat68, EQ6, and unmodded 400D. I took this over 7 nights from 30 Dec to 11 Jan, but only got to process it now.

8hr 40min of OIII at ISO800, 10min subs
8hr 30min of RGB at ISO400, 10min subs

I couldn't get any of the Ha extensions, they were just too faint for an unmodded dslr, perhaps I'll visit this again later when the equipment changes.

The heat did no good to the DSLR, I did take darks at approximately the same ambient temperature (+-3degC), but obviously have no idea what temperature the camera is actually at. Flats were taken at the end of each session with a lightbox.

Thanks for looking
George

That is a nice attempt for an unmodded camera. It is a tough target and I am sure you will give it another try when your capture equipment changes.

Some serious DSLR time. I know its a pita with less imaging times, but I feel that these are the times when the ICNR really comes in handy.

The extra OIII has really done it justice as has the change in orientation. Gives it a very different perspective.

Seriously good image George, I'm sure you are proud of the result. Especially after the effort that you put in. Now, when is that camera to be modded? :P

Thx for the compliments guys.

I see many of you have also posted shots of the same object, makes mine seem puny in comparison. This object has a lot of detail, much of which I did not record. Yes I cant wait to have a crack at it with a Ha sensitive camera, hopefully cooled too :)

Nice detail in this image but it is a shame you can't get the Ha. It would lift the image immencely.
You deserve credit for the amount of exposure time you have put into this image.
Well done.

Yeh that's a pretty good image George especially considering it was taken with an unmodded DSLR :eyepop:. For that type of time investment (bravo BTW) it would be nice to be able to display it a bit bigger, you should consider getting a Pbase account for this...?

Nice job
