Gabriela Mistral was the first Nobel Prize Winner for Literature from Chile. She was born and grew up in the region where many large telescopes are now. Just Google for more.

Below is a crop and a picture of Gabriela to show the remarkable resemblance.

Canon 5DH, 100ED at f/7.65 and FL 765mm with Hutech #7887 FR/FF. Hutech LPR filter. FOV approx 3x2 degrees.

Exposures 30X(15s, 30s, 1m) 14x2m and 10x4m at 1600ISO. Fridge at -10.0C. Usual HDR method. Transparency and seeing both good. Would have got more if not for intermittent thin cloud over the two nights!

Large Image 3.5MB

Lovely Bert... Really nice looking shot..

I had a quick look at this one earlier this evening.. With my setup I can fit NGC 3372 and Gabriela Mistral in the frame at the same time :D Not really worth targeting for a proper imaging run :D
