I just read this too - absolutely sickening. We need tougher penalties for these atrocities.

All too common, I'm afraid.

Heartbreaking stuff:(

The neighbours should be dragged into court for not contacting the authorities earlier. IMO they contributed to the mistreating of the animal.

Shoot the owner, he deserves that and more.

Poor dog.

There's nothing wrong with the owner of the dog that an ounce of lead wouldn't fix!

The neighbours were more than likely terrified of retribution if they interfered.
At least they finally did the right thing.
The poor poor dog. I'm sure the RSPCA will find him a loving home and he'll be treated with kindness from now on.
The owner of the dog??? I believe in eye for an eye.

Too right Nettie... There would be plenty of people lined up with iron bars.

I don't think the owner deserves a bullet... That would be getting off lightly.. I think a razor blade and a bottle of mineral turps for a start.. it gets progressively worse from then on out...

My black lab x rottie was an RSPCA rescued dog, he'd be abused by his previous owner, starved, chained to a tree without food/water for days on end etc.. I'm a firm believer in karma, and that is the only thing that makes me feel slightly ok about all this... knowing that in one way or another, the owner of this dog will get his own back..

I've made a call already to the RSPCA offering to adopt this dog depending on its resulting mental state and location... If I can help give this dog a better life from now on.. I will.

There is nothing that makes me angrier, and sadder than someone abusing an animal that both can't, and in most cases, wouldnt even try to defend itself...

Throw the owner into a the lion enclosure at the zoo... See how he likes being scared out of his mind before being mauled to death..

That is soo bad... I wish there were tough penalties for people doing this. Unfortunately they get away with it most of the time. I don't understand why it took so long to report the incident though. 2 days? poor bugger!

If he could do this to a dog don't even imagine what he could do to a human, the police need to find this creature before he

a) breeds
b) doe's it again or worse

matt

There are.

The problem is the courts rarely impose the maximum penalty.:mad2:

Trevor,

I recall hearing or reading somewhere, that people who mistreat animals are prone to carrying out the same, if not worse, acts of violence, on humans.

It's one of the traits of mass murderers.

It never ceases to amaze me at the level of violence that the human species is capable of against it's own kind and other species we share the Earth with.

Oxygen thieves walk among us. This ratbag should be introduced to some dogs who can look after themself, like a trio of police dogs. Give him a 100m headstart into the scrub and let them loose!
