Hello , I am a new member , just joined today and I am considering selling my scope but don't have any idea what it is worth. Would be happy to get any feedback on this. The Scope is a Saxon 200mm x 1000mm Newtonian on an aluminium trpod with EQ5 mount. Some generic lenses, 2" focus tube, 9x 50 finder scope and a 2'"to 1.25" adaptor.

Hi Eric :)
This is probably not a question that most people would like to answer. Advising on price could always be seen to have possible motives attached to the advice for whatever reasons, and there's always the possibility of future resentment when you see similar gear going for a different price later on.
Best advice I think is that you look through the for sale archive and look for what others have gone for and judge based on these. Look for all Chinese-manufactured makes like your Saxon such as SkyWatcher in the same aperture as yours - i.e. 8 inch or 200mm.

Hi Eric
Sounds like it is a Saxon F2001EQ5. How old? Condition?
I can see it listed new for $975 here http://www.telescopes-astronomy.com.au/saxon_telescope_optical_binoculars_ spotting_scopes_accessories_microsc opes.htm
Think 60-70% second-hand for reasonable condition. Perhaps up to 75-80% if in mint condition.
Something similar sold for around $600-700 back in February

But you could have done this research yourself with a bit of goggling and reading on this forum. :)
