I went out today after much scrimping and saving and bought a Losmandy G11 mount and now there is a giant storm going on outside. (see my ad for EQ6 Pro in perfect condition for sale)

This isn't fair as I thought the rain only came when you buy a new scope!

No, the rain comes whenever you buy anything intended to be used outside - apart from plants.

Good purchase Frank. Welcome to the G11 club :)

It's undocumented, but G11's work just fine in the rain. Go for it! :D

Glad to know it was your fault Frank, I was beginining to wonder whether it was my fault, as i had cobbled together a half-arse attempt at an imaging rig for my G11. Still it performed OK for its first night out last Saturday. Some small improvements during the week to try to correct a bit of astigmatism and...... it starts to rain.

Gee Trevor - that's pretty good for a mirror lens!

PS - where did the other half go? :P

Which other half? The family, the picture, or the rig?:D

The picture was 17x3min from my light polluted backyard in the Inner West of Sydney.

I call the rig Little Vlad, owing to its Soviet origins. Do you like the guide scope, an old 70-210 zoom with a 2x teleconverter. Makes finding stuff easy, as if it doesnt appear in the screen you just wind out the focal length until you find it, centre it and zoom back in again to guide.
