The latest news has got me thinking...and my brain is hurting.

Numerous media outlets and countries are reporting that the current weather conditions haven't been the same for almost 100years.

Solar activity also has been it's lowest since 100 years ago.

Ockham's razor ?

What I'd like to know is why is solar activity so easily dismissed as not being a contributing factor to climate change?
If good reading links can be provided I'd be most interested.

With the new satellites to be launched such as SDO; will this provide any evidence that there is a stronger influence of solar activity on earth's atmosphere and climate?

NASA has said that solar activity is the main factor to climate change
but they are not pushing it so they wont loose there funding, if you know what I am saying

One thing I have always thought about 100 year records when they are broken, especially when many are broken around the same time as seems to be happening this time, is if the same records were also set around the same period, 100 years ago. If they are, this would indicate that the parameters needed to create the "hottest year" may also be the same sort of values required to set the "driest year" (quite logical) but also the "wettest summer", not logically expected...but maybe. This would mean that setting many new records in a short period of time is not as unusual as many people may be thinking.

Hopefully, you can see what I am trying to say.
