Hi everyone. The cloud finally lifted last night(sort of,for a little while) so I was able to set up in the driveway and give my new TSA120 a look at the sky. I've been plagued by guiding problems, mounting problems, weight problems etc,so it was a buzz to have everything finally working:D. Anyway, got ten mins on Eta Carina to see how everything was, then the cloud came back. This is taken at the prime focus of the telescope, and is 5x2mins, taken in lightpollutionville Qld,with minimal processing; no flats. Can't wait for some real skytime!. Darrell.

Nice clear image Darrel, The corners of the image look pretty good. Interesting to see the result of the Tak120. Looks like a keeper for sure.

Darrell,

The image looks sharp as a tac(k). Pretty good for 10min data.

Nice mate.. Very nice...

I eyed the TSA 120 for a fair while... Looks like it performs every bit as good as you'd expect....

Congrats on the first light and on a great image..

Alex.

Sure captured some photons for 10 mins of exposure.
Going to be a successful setup for sure.
I cant be positive but I think this is the first picture Ive seen thru one of these. This photo suggests a very high recommendation.
Thanks for showng.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I do hope to produce something more postworthy soon. Jeff; as far as I know,(and according to Claude at a.e.c) this is the only 120 in Aust, the rest of the first release being preordered in the U.S. With the weather there at the moment,I might be the only one able to image:lol: Alex; It sure is a great looking scope(no pun). If you would like to test it out with one of your fancy cams sometime, your more than welcome. I need to see how ccd works, maybe get some practical advice from you in return?

Darrell - I would love the chance to give the CCD a fly in a Tak.. The only fear I have is that it would end up costing me a lot of money :D :D I do like new toys! :D

Anytime you want to have an astro get together, let me know.. According to the info IIS is giving me, you're only 11 kms from me... should be easy to organise some imaging time together..

Great first light test with the Tak Darrel....
You've got to expect clouds with new astro gear..

Gotta love it when everything comes together and from what I can gather by the smallish size of the image, all looks very good indeed.

Look forward to more of your images through the lovely Taka.
