Think i have the handle on flat frames now, so this is my first real attempt, well after M42 anyway, taken last night, 12*10 mins subs on QHY8 OSC, with flats, post-processed in Nebulosity, then juggled with for ages in CS4.

I tried to take some shorter shots to blend into the core, but i fudged it, never mind! its not that bad an image to share anyway, even if the core is a bit burned.

Nice shot Duncan ! You seem to be less frustrated these days and once you get the core sorted it will be a sensational shot.

Very nice. Particularly like the stars as they are razor sharp, vibrant and no halos! The Nebula has loads of fine detail.

Very nice capture Duncan. It does appear you have your colour balance a little bit off. I notice you are using nebulosity. It may be worth opening the image in nebulosity and clicking image - background offset adjustment then lick OK without making any adjustments yourself. This will align your background colours properly then adjust your midtone and highlight colour balance in photoshop.
I'm not sure if you are using a LP filter as these can cause some colour imbalance which must be processed out.

Nice reflection free image. Well done.

Thanks Doug, yeah i use the background offset to level the colours before doing anything with it, maybe i put them all back in! i just like the colours, but yeah, i will maybe give that some more consideration....

Coming from the likes of yourself Tom, thats praise indeed, thanks
