I thought I would give this target a crack with the Moded Canon 350D.

This image was taken last night.

SWED80 Canon 350Da guided LX200 10"

5 x 6min, 5 x 3 min (tossed out 5 x 30 sec as it was still too bright for the core - should of went 15 sec)

ISO 400

Calibrated flats/Darks and stacked in DSS

High REs Version (way less noise) http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt21/coolhandjo/Final-Orion-51min-calibrate-1.png

PS curves, levels, saturation

Comments welcome

Thanks for viewing

Hi Paul, You will probably be able to use the images taken for the core.
Try using them by only processing them until you start to get core burn out. After blending them into your image you can try selecting the core and use shadows and highlights with shadows set to 0 and sliding the highlights sliders to tame the core.

I have included your original image with the shadows and highlights adjustment done to give you and idea of what can be achieved.
Remember this is your posted image without any core replacement.

I hope you don't mind me having a play and I hope it gives you some ideas for the future.

Thanks Doug. Will have a go at it.

Also, I posted a higher res version here: http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt21/coolhandjo/Final-Orion-51min-calibrate-1.png

The jpeg conversion didnt do too much for the image. The High res file looks to be unaffected.

Hi Paul, nice image. I too find avoiding the core burn-out a challenge, but will eventually get it.

Doug has helped me in the past, and has good knowledge on processing.
