This may be a stupid question but is it possible to replace the screws holding the primary mirror on my collapsible 8" dob? Could I replace these with Bob's Knobs or similar? The heads of the screws aren't too tough and are starting to wear a little from collimation.

Cheers

Bob's knobs are brilliant, make the process simple and quick. I got the full set, primary, secondary and springs, worth every cent. Just check to make sure thay have ones suitable, for GSO scopes they use the Meade LB ones, don't know about Skywatcher.

Bobs Knobs work well but the sets are a little overpriced IMO. There was a thread on here a few months ago where someone detailed where they put their own together from a fasteners supplier or similar.

Of course if you want the no-fuss method just buy the Bobs Knobs/Astronomy Shoppe packages

This is the site that will sell screws, you just have to find the right size, I replaced the locking screws on my skywatcher primary, much easier now, I had to go to bunnings to replace the adjusting screws as mine were wearing as well.
