Did I ever mention I hate rain? Been on holidays since dec 18 and not 1 clear night as I look out the door right now it is believe it or not it's b%#^*y raining yet again.
We bought our grandson a pair of binos for Christmas and he is yet to see a star or even the moon.

I think you should think yourselves very lucky that you have plenty of rain. Where we live we just never have enough rain, it's very hard to keep a garden alive and as we only have tank water more is always welcome.

I also only have tank water and the garden is only natives. Looks good and is very water friendly.
The tanks are overflowing and the dams are pretty good now. It is typical of Aus. Either too much rain or not enough.

Yes you're quite right Terry either too much or to little,although we rarely get too much. When we first moved here there was no garden to speak of and I wondered why, I know now, it really is a diffucult place to garden. I have planted all native shrubs and many drought resistant grasses and things like Agaves, but with the exception of the Agaves most things are struggling.When we do get some rain however the place transforms, almost within hours the dead crunchy grass starts to show shades of green and within a few days everything is green as, for miles and miles. Never seems to last long though because the rain is so sporadic. Never mind we will still perservere.

All i will see of it is when it flows down the Darling river into the Menindee Lakes.

Still it dont rain.

No Terry i was told a few years ago by state water that they would need 30 inchs in the darling headwaters to fill the lake system to capacity.
