Three of us went up there tonight and waited for the failing light.

Canon 400D
18-55mm lens
ISO100
F/16
Varying shutter speeds

A bit of quality is lost compressing it to less than 200kb, but it looks ok for the web.

C & C welcome as always.

Baz.

Thanks Liz and Michael. It's funny, I really didn't think the bee was the best of the four. Shows you how people's tastes differ.

Nice set Barry, #3 does it for me. Lovely colours of the rock and moss. Are these taken below the falls? Last time I was in that area was to ski at Corin when they had the lift running :screwy:

The bee shot in phenominal. Honestly I don't think the actually shot of the bee / lighting is all that great, but the composition, terrain, texture, specific shade mix of blue/cyan/turquoise (not sure of the colour) is magnificant. In all the shot comes together, in an almost surreal finished image. My brain is telling me, that shade of the moss / fungi does not exist, is that done in PP or the actual colour of it?

I would print that one up, it will come up a treat!! Well done, it held my interest far longer than any macro, in recent memory.

Wow gee, thanks Mitchell.

All the colors are natural. It is actually a wet and slimy surface of the rocks near the falls. There was a swarm of bees all over the rocks drinking the water. I lay flat and got my head down amongst them, (they didn't seem particularly disturbed) and clicked away.

Thanks for the comments mate.

Baz I think the the bee shot is lovely.
I like how colours just harmonize.

That's not to say I don't like the other shots too.

You'd be surprised at how diverse people's tastes are.

Anyway mate well done, I enjoy watching your progress.
