This may be a silly question, but does anyone have/know where to find a complete list of NGC objects (and IC as well if possible) in a simple Excel or similar format, preferably with some basic info such as RA & Dec, magnitude, dimensions etc.
Here's hoping

Do you have starchart software such as TheSky? Using TheSky you can export exactly what you want as a text file. I suspect Maxim and others can too.

I have a spreadsheet with a number of catalogs in it. 1.4mb zipped. Can't remember where I got it nor do I know how accurate or complete it is.
Can email it if you like.

14000 objects in that spreadsheet !, thats pretty frightning, would keep one busy for a while.
Freeware version of Astroplanner gives you the full Messier and NGC catalogues to sort and explore as you wish. Can be a huge help helping you work out when and you can see what too. Must have for session planning I would venture. I haven't opened my Nortons errr, for many months (was going to say "all year".... ;))
