Simple Arrangements

[Octane]

Sometimes it's just the simple arrangements in nature which provide a great opportunity to create a photograph of. Here we have a few boulders, a little pony tail waterfall, and craftily placed greenery in the form of old and new fern growth. It captured my eye.

I made this photo during the Golden Hour, a few short minutes after the sun had set.

wonderful and very pleasing.

cant find much to critique on and if anything it would be minor. e.g Feels a lot is weighted to the right of frame.

I think the round bush on top is a little bit central, but otherwise very well done. Way better than mine.

It was eye-catching wasn't it? I looked and looked at it a few times, torn about whether it was worthy or not. I took a few shots as there was just something about it. It was almost as if it was a water feature deliberately set up in someone's garden.

You're right about the bush being too central, as well. It was a bit of a tight spot and with light falling fast, thought I'd see what I could potentially do with this one.

This is a very pleasing capture you have got a nice blend of the light and the colours of the rock.

The effect of the water really tops it off.

Thanks! When there's no sun around, it really makes it easy to shoot. Bracketing and manually blending also helps with the balance in the image.

Thank you. Yes, I love this lens. Some people say it's soft; I don't know what they're talking about. Maybe I got a good copy? Even at f/22 I find foreground objects to be very sharp -- such as detail in moss covered rocks. I don't mind diffraction softening as it helps with the painterly look that I aim for.
