View Full Version here: : Astronomer portraits
I recently spent a few days holidaying at a beach campground in Taranaki, and had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know a professional photographer who's involved in astronomy, and has recently worked on a set of portraits of influential astronomers.
The portraits are on his website here:

The captions make for some really interesting reading!

That is very interesting. I like the way each portrait is different and thge setting somehow relates to the astronomer's field of research.

Wowow!! Absolutely fantastic!! Will have to go through them again, as so much interesting info there, and spectacular photos.
Loved the quote next to Professor Alan Watson -
'We are all in the gutters
but some of us are looking at the stars.'
Thank you Matt.

Fascinating, very interesting. Thanks! It's the kind of thing I think would be good as a touring exhibition.

What a fantastic collection of photos and information. I didn't realise that Brian May was a scientist as well as an amazing musician.
Thanks for the link.

"Galactic Archeologist". What a title! Great photos.
Ha ha yep, if I'd known that Max had photographed Brian May, I would've asked him what he was like as a person.
