Hi all,
I've just ordered a QHY9 & Filter Wheel which I will use for imaging with my Tak FSQ106.
I have the standard 2" Takahashi adapter for the FSQ and I was planning to mount the QHY9 / Filter Wheel directly onto it (I believe that the QHY Filter Wheel comes with a 2" nose piece).
I have read however that there is very little back focus on the early FSQ106's and I was wondering if anyone could comment on whether I will have problems with back focus for this setup?

Cheers

Matt

Assuming this is an early FSQ.
There is 120mm of Backfocus from the back of the CAA to the image plane.

Where you run into problems is putting in OAGs and electronic focussers in between.

I think you should be OK but not sure what adapters you have between the CAA and the nosepiece adapter.

Be careful - that rear element is very close to the adapters so make sure the nose piece doesnt somehow protude inwards too close !

Hi Rally.
Yes, it's one of the early model FSQ106's. I only have the Multi Adapteur & the 2" adapter sitting between the CAA and the Filter Wheel so hopefully this will provide me with enough back focus.
I take your point re the position of the rear lens and will be very carefull not to insert the nose piece too far.
Many thanks
Matt
