Top shot!!
Hi David,
Thanks for the heads-up.
Some of Andrew's weather shots since he bought the new Nikon have been
extraordinary and he has got into the habit of pulling off the road or actually
going out of his way in search of the weather to get a photograph of it.
It is fantastic to see NBN run with this one!

Thanks David
I almost didnt chase the storm as I had had a Colonscopy earlier in the day. Dont worry I wont post those photos here.
I only intended to go to Cessnock but I got there just as the storm did so I decided to try and get ahead of it. I arrived in Singleton about 10 minutes before it struck and went for the high ground at Singleton Heights where this image was taken.
It was AMAZING!!
Definatly the most violent storm I have been in for a few years. Several close CG's had me retreat to the servo on the hilltop. On the way back into town I had to drive throught the heaviest rain I have ever seen. Wind that pushed my car across 1 lane at which point I decided enough was enough and pull over for 5 minutes. The wind was truely damaging as I watched a palm tree was bent nearly 30 degrees, with the rain so heavy I could barely see the other side of the road. I then took shelter in the KFC where I shot some images of the hail. In the 10 seconds it took for me to run inside I got soaked to the bone. The wind and rain returned with force and I thought that the roof was gonna give as the ceiling was leaking in several places. Eventually it eased enough for me to get back into the car and start to head home. The streets were all under water in some areas, quite deep. Plenty of trees had come down and just south of town it looked like a fence had been demolished along with a downed tree. All in all a great chase and definatly the storm of the season.
My thoughts go to the people of Singleton who were effected by this storm.
