Moon and Jupiter with its four of the moons.

This was my second observation ever. Fortunately the sky was very clear by the night from cloudy afternoon. I took the chance and ran out to look at some stars. Instead I decided to look at moon and Jupiter and I was surprised to see how well I could see.

The moon was very clear and beautiful through the telescope.
The pictures are taken with my 8 meg digital camera, so quality is a bit poor.

I was also amazed to see how clear I could see the Jupiter and its moon. I could make out the its cloud but the Jupiter looked bit small. When I took the picture it came out too bright and the clouds on Jupiter can't be seen.
Also I took the vid of Jupiter and its moons moving away from the view of the eye piece. It was pretty fast. :eyepop:, but takes too long to load for the post so I guess you guys need to see it for your self...:shrug:

I used Skywatcher 8" Dobsonian with 10mm eye piece.

Tom, for your second attempt ever you have done extremely well, I can still remember my first and second attempts of these objects.

Actually the Moon age looks pretty much the same, keep at it mate, now that you are hooked things can only get better, well done indeed.

I am hoping to see some nebulae next time but the area is a bit light polluted from street light and neighbor's light. Hopefully I could convince mum to take me up to Mt Tambourine where I expect stunning view with ink black sky, hopefully...

I saw the mars yesterday. It was 12:30 am and I was't tired so I came out to dining room and looked through fly screen. It was very small but I could make out the red shine on it. It was still beautiful seeing red planet around white stars.

I used Jupiter 2 and found the name of the moons. It is pretty good soft ware and easy to use. So here is a pic with their name tag. :thumbsup:
