Hi again! :hi:
Last night I saw the moon and my brother took an awesome picture of it with his new digital camera.
I also saw about 4 star clusters! 3 were all in the same spot! (it was near the small Magellan clouds.)
Also, I forgot to tell you that a few weeks ago I built the binoframe from one of the AS&T mag but I think it needs shoulder pads!
:thanx: also for the info on my other post. The only problem is staying up late to look at everything :(
Merry Christmas to everyone too!
Regards

Wow great pic, looks amazing. :)
I'm still waiting on clouds to move away so we can try out the new telescope we got. I got 8" dob, which Telescope did you use?
Thanks
Tom

Isn't the crescent Moon nice to study. Especially along the terminator.
Did you look at the part of the Moon not lit by sunlight and see how well you can see craters and mountains there. That is being lit by reflected light from the Earth - "Earthshine".
Once winter comes and daylight saving ends, you'll be able to start stargazing soon after you come home from School  And get up early and stargaze some more!! :D

Last comment - "Open" star clusters or "Globular" star clusters?
Near the Small Magellanic Cloud there are three globular clusters to hunt down:-
47 Tucanae (NGC 104) - easy one
NGC 362 - takes a bit of effort
NGC 121 - this one is hard (small and faint, actually in the SMC, but stunningly overshadowed by NGC 104 which is often in the same field of view)

Yeah. It’s a good camera alright. It is an Olympus Mju tough 6010 and it has 12 mega pixels! (We took it in sports mode). We just put the camera up against the ep and hoped for the best.
cya!
