NGC 1512 - Darth Vader Lives!

Here's NGC 1512, what I'd like to call the Tie Fighter Galaxy.

It was over 32 years years ago this film was released in Aus, boy that makes me feel old...

Anyway, this faint little galaxy needs some more Luminance data, but what with Melbourne's weather, I might not get some.

LRGB, 60, 30, 30, 30 minutes with the RC and SBIG.

Nice one Stuart, getting these small faint fuzzies is far harder than the usual run of the mill targets most people go for. Nice and sharp and good detail

Interesting image. I read that it is believed to be a barred spiral. Just down the road - 30Mly away!

Very nice Stuart. The fine detail is really nice too. There appears to be a little bit of a gradient in the image too. Nothing really distracting but thought you might like to know about it.

Yep, not enough Luminance data and stretched too far. I'll try for more data then do a gradient removal later.
