Hi guys I cant believe how the lightbridge scopes are holding thier value. I have talked with two people selling and both wanted close to new price. Now to be fair they both had done mods like argos ect... but all I want is the base scope and then Ill add my own. To buy one new from bintel is $1,399 and It would be great to get one for less. Is there a good site to look for used scopes other then ice??? I hope this is the right section to be writing this. Thanks

IceTrade is the biggest and best site for used telescope equipment :)

If you keep looking long enough, something will come up. I've seen plenty of 12" lightbridges up for sale from time to time - maybe the timing isn't right right now. Maybe wait until after xmas?

Thanks Mike I know you guys are the biggest astro site however I sold my scope the other day and I am very keen to get back out there. I was hoping there might be something I overlooked. Hey by the way it was very nice meeting you the other night after so many years lurking around. You are also right about the time of year; not good for scope hunting.

Well actually I reckon this time of year would be better than other times, as a lot of people are looking for some quick cash, and the prices are much lower.

It is a good time to talk some dealing, so to speak.

Being a small market theres no steady stock to pick and choose from. If you want something specific you normally have to wait. Being a seller in this market can be tough if your item isnt one in hot demand. A large discount is often required to tempt the bargain hunters. Impatient people pay a big premium in this second hand market.

Just as an update I think I found myself 12 inch lightbridge. The deal has been made and I im waiting on shipping costs now but it all looks good. I am very :eyepop:. I bought it off a guy in south Australia, an outfit called Telescopes and Astronomy , Seems to be a very nice fellow.
