What i like about this one is the overall colour. Very Very lifelike so to speak.

Great work!

Hi Iceman

Considering the number of times I have imaged Mars this year, probably about 20 times in 5 months, I agree with you that this is my best yet.

Hey Anthony, it looked to me like you could pull a bit more detail out of that image without damaging it too much - I had a go with Astra Image and the Gimp, let me knowif you prefer your original or my tweaked version.

Hi Bird

I like your tweaked version better, how do you do it? I ask because processing is my weak point at the moment.

- Loaded the image into Astra Image, then split into separate colour planes.
- Used LR deconvolution on the red plane, that seemed to give the best results
- Used ME deconvolution on green and blue, they have a lot more noise in them and ME
deconvolution can smooth that out a bit.
- recombined the planes to make a colour image, saved it.

- Load the new colour image into the Gimp and use the "levels" and "hue/saturation" controls
to adjust the colour until I get it where I like it.

regards, Bird

The SPC (south polar cap) shows up a little clearer in the tweaked version, it's very small at the moment cause it's midsummer on Mars.

Hi Anthony, well hasn't that sharpened up nicely and started to show a range of shades in the main features; I mean it was good to start with but amazing what a little extra processing can bring out!
