A very short imaging run near dawn on this target. I used 5 minute subs and gathered 25 minutes in each channel. I could do with more data, but I am pretty happy with this image from so little data.
The image is a little clipped at the black point but I really needed a luminence layer to get the black point up.

I like it Paul... showing some irregular shaped stars in some areas still, but the focus/guiding and composition look good..
Beautiful Paul, thats great :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Great image Paul :thumbsup:,
Is the bluish light due to a refelection nebula in the region of the
Jewel Box? Or is it just the camera optics? :help:

Paul,
I think the field looks perfectly flat across the whole image and so am impressed.
Colour spread is very good.

Sean, I think I had some dew on the optics and I am just enhancing the blue in the stars only. I don't think there is any nebulosity in the Jewel Box, but I could be wrong.
Thanks all for the comments.

as far as I know there is no nebulosity associated with the Jewel box... Dew on the optics is likely the culprit to the blue glow around the little cluster of mostly blue stars..
Need to get a little more crafty Paul - synth lum it. Processing is about getting the most from the data you've acquired. Place all R,G,B subs into a combined set (not the masters!). I typically alter the weight of the G subs(lower it - easy to do after normalisation in CCDStack), but its optional. This aside, a pleasing rendition of this cluster. The lum would probably make the stars pop a little more. Well done.

Fabulous image Paul. I found the Jewel Box a very hard target to image and look great like your image. Well done.
Greg.
Very nice indeed Paul.
Your image shows exactly why it's called the "Jewel Box"

I've seen some shots of this that do not look as vibrant! Well done.
