Had a great weekend with three clear nights in a row (minus 1.5 hours of cloud on Sunday night) at ASV Heathcote dark sky site.

Geminids were great and got easily my most successful meteor pic:

Bravo!

That's a wonderful image. Kudos to you.

Also, go team 5D Mark II. A remarkable imaging instrument. ;)

Brilliant

F/1.4 & 3200ISO ... that sensitive sure would help pic up the meteors!

That`s a top shot Phil!
I tried something similar when we had a break in the cloud but it was still smokey and only caught one sparodic in 2hrs pointing towards the radiant.
Next time!

thanks for the comments folks..

any image like this involves a bit of luck too.. weather was favourable, the photo was taken close to the time of an unexpectedly high peak in Geminid rate (~160 ZHR for northern hemisphere observers) and the nice bright bolide in the corner of the frame also helped ;)

Thats absolutly outstanding! i agree with Troys' comments

this photo has great scientific merit,i.e it could easily feature

in a top astronomy book etc.to exemplfiy radiet points.

Really a first class picture, and taken on a Vixen mount, thats

doubly good!

well done

Cheers Chris:thumbsup:
