Hi All,
Michael (Tilt) and I had an imaging run on Friday. Attached is our attempt. Its been a while and despite a few issues we came up with a reasonable result.
Colours on my laptop tend to be a bit off so hopefully this doesnt come out too saturated.
Camera - 350D modded (Baader filter)
Scope - vixen NA140SSf
Exposure - 12 x 5mins
Temp - around 11-15 degrees
Cheers

The colours are rich - but thats better than being too washed out in my opinion. There are a few halos on thes tars but not too noticeable. Nice "soft" detail though.

Thanks Trevor, multiweb and Jo.
We were pretty pleased with the detail compared with previous attempts with the unmodded camera.
Halos are interesting. Here is a link to what looks a truely excellent image - but still with halos.

Not saying this really compares to our effort and certainly there is a bit of faint blue chromatic abberation in my image. Maybe narrowband helps but perhaps even then you can still get a halo.
Not sure if it is partly due to lens reflections or something similar - perhaps someone knows why.
Cheers

Well done David and Michael , 5 min subs you must have some guiding happening this time. Some Ha data will bring out some fine detail in the faint background nebula.

Hi Ken,
Yeah thanks. Agree the next step would be Ha but Santa may need to make a little visit.
Cheers
