The original Alien is scarier
Aliens is full of gung ho meataxe GI's that fall over themselves
with all that fire power it's unbelievable they'd go into hostile territory and be so lax

Yup, I sat up and watched it too. We have a boxed set of the Alien and Predator movies, so I'm not sure why I sat up and watched it!
When I went to bed the BIGGEST huntsman I have ever seen in my life was perched on the wall near my bed... so I had a few swats at it with a magazine whilst standing on the bed and :eyepop: :eyepop:the bugger lauched itself at the bed and shimmied behind the bed head with it's hairy little foot sticking out. Scream squark! I'm amazed I didn't wake the kids with my chirping. So... out came the spray (awful stuff, I was hoping to catch it and release it outside, but no way was I sleeping with it on the bed!), chased it around with the can until I could squash the poor thing  .
RIP giant alien. Oh I mean RIP giant spider.
So, all you ladies and gents out there, don't watch scary movies (even if you know what is going to happen next) by yourself when there is a giant arachnid trawling for prey in your bedroom, otherwise you may just have to change your undies!!

With you Trevor the 1st was edge of the seat stuff.
Cheers Kev.
ooooh, dont Kerrie!!! Spiders are one of the scariest things on Earth, and I have had some memorable SCARY momentas with .... THE HUNTSMAN.
Yeah, I also have stuff of DVD, but when it comes on the telly I wanna watch it.
There you go .... i had forgotton about the original, so will need to watch that now. Has been eons since saw the original, so need to watch it too.
 Isn't it strange that we do that. I have copies of these as well, but everytime its on telly, I have to watch it as well. Even worse, we put up with the damn commercials :screwy:
Its almost like if you don't watch it, you feel like your missing out on something, even though your Sepcial Edition Box set is in your TV cabinet.....sickness!

Watching it on the telly is like someone else (the station programmer) is giving you a little treat!

Here's what I think.
People watch stuff on TV that they already have on DVD because there is a sense of community.
You know(whether consciously or not) that other people are watching it as well. And when the ads come on, you know(whether consciously or not) that people are getting up just like you, and then coming back and sitting down again. In your rmind(whether consciously or not), it's no fun watching the DVD alone, but it's more fun to know that other people are watching it at the same time.
It's like a subconscious gathering, a shared event.

No, I take out the DVD put it into the projector
pull down my 100" screen
turn on the 5.1 surround sound system with sub woofer
get a beer and chips
turn out the lights
and watch the movie uninterrupted
:lol::lol: kill em all Kerrie i cant stand spiders :eyepop::eyepop:
I would have slept in the loungeroom :help::shrug:
I remember i was stuck outside for two hours cause there was a giant huntsman guarding the back door :rofl::rolleyes:
:scared3:
I'm with you girl .... if there was a giant Huntsman at my back door, there is no way I would go anywhere near it. :scared2::scared2::scared2:

Thats why they sell Peabeu and Mortein in those GIANT cans...for GIANT spiders.......
:lol: Yeah but it dosnt help when the can is inside :eyepop:
:lol: ... ah, note to self ..... leave giant can of insect spray near back door for giant spiders!!

Get a straw broom - one made with real straw not fake straw.
Use the insect spray to slow the spider down then stab it with the straw broom.
I'm with you Jen. I am happy to play with my snake but I can't stand big, hairy spiders.:eyepop:
Yep Liz im going to do that LOL  I ususally use one a whole can on one spider
Oh no thats getting too close to it using the broom and then he will climb up the god dam handle :lol::eyepop:

You hover the straw tips over the spider 2 to 3 inches from it and then stab it dagger style several times. I only have a fake straw broom and the bristles flex too much when I stab.:mad2:

I keep a spider catcher around the place...basically it's a clear plastic tub attached to along handle which you place over the poor scared spider..slip a piece of cardboard under the tub then tranfer the lot outside and allow the spider to crawl out unharmed...I only do this if I have to...otherwise I don't mind having a huntsman in my palce cause they hunt down and eat whitetales!!!

Hi Jen, Liz and All, :)
What a bunch of wimps! You too Chillie, I pick the huntsman up with bare hands. I know where the biting part is and even if it did sink the fangs in they are harmless.
I take care of my spiders. They kill of the "Badumna insignis". Black house or window spider, and Redbacks. Plus lots of nasty insects.
If the Huntsman is found inside I toss it out unharmed. I think the Big Green Tree Frogs finish them off though.
People seem to do the wrong thing to control pests at times. They not only kill off all the nasties, they kill off the controlling bugs/animals as well.
That allows the nasties to breed up in larger than usual numbers. All you need do is to learn about the Huntsman etc and overcome your fears.
Makes living somewhat better. We have very few flies or mosquitoes here.
I also attract a lot of the carnivorus aves (birds) to the house. Almost no grasshoppers in the garden and rarely spray the fruit trees.
Whoops this was about Aliens. Hmm. Well bugs are aliens in the house?
Cheers Marty
:eyepop: Marty you are a crazy man

I catch them as well and release them outside.
I think they are cute creatures, they give you undivided attention with their 4 pairs of eyes.
