has anyone else been experienceing outages? I have lost posts and replies to people all day, on 3 separate PC's one with Linux running.
Is this a site issue or the telecommunications providers?

Running like a dog here since lunchtime, still is 22:44 lots of timeouts. Other sites seem OK.
h0ughy got your pm, sent a reply I hope, took several attempts.
Just connected again 22.55, but so sloooooow last attempt tonight.

I've been in the same boat all afternoon. Have been getting plenty of "server not founds" & long waits for pages to display.
Yes same here too.
Houghy have you been working on your new puzzle and have drained all our computing power?
It's the Houghy@home project..... :scared:

I just got online a little while ago, and if it was any other site I would have already pulled the plug on it. It's a shocker.

I've sent an email, hopefully it will be fixed soon.
We're also still planning the move to the new server ASAP, just also mindful of minimising risk during the competition launch period etc.
Apologies for the inconvenience, but fortunately it's been quite stable (and fast) for the last couple of months. Hopefully we'll return to that before we upgrade to the new server.

finally got back on, RB thanks for the sendup.
Mike, well, I hope you can organise to get things rectified shortly. There are lots of frustraited IIsers out there who want to know the details of the 350D
Yay! Finally got back on. First time in 35 and 1/2 hours! (Not that I'm counting!)
Even though the pages take about 5mins to load it doesn't bother me too much as long as it gets back to normal eventually.

Sorry guys, apparently the hosts did some planned maintenance and it went bad.
They're working on the problem and hopefully will be back to normal soon-ish?
Oh well i'm getting more work done today :)

Lesson learned. Should always have a printout of the entire "what would you do if iceinspace went offline" thread handy to help us get through such harsh times.

Sorry for not replying to your posts, I'll try and get around to them ASAP.

For just long enough to say goodbye to fellow members and learn to cope with the loss. It's been fun everyone. Thanks.
PS. Ken, are we still having some sort of a iceinspace memorial astro camp next year?

nah we're back in business guys.
Apologies for the outages, but as I said, it was a hosting problem with the provider - they had some scheduled maintenance that went bad.
Man yesterday was frustrating! I shared your pain!

Sounds like bigpond is having an issue - must be a providers issue because at work all day yesterday, as well as at home on iinet, was perfectly fine.
