The topic this month is: "On the Road"

As usual, one entry per person and the image must be your own work.
Normal forum image size applies.

The image doesn't necessarily have to have been taken this month but we do encourage you to go out and enjoy the challenge.

Good luck and good shooting.

This is what you don't want to leave or find on the road...

It is the front end of the cam shaft out of a late model stationwagon that was involved in a head on collision with a 100 series Landcruiser. Excessive speed was not a factor.

Please take a moment to think about the effect on the occupants of the cars and their families... and then think about what you do on the road and what you can do to make it safer. Please.

It's not a particularly good photo IMHO, but I hope you think about it.:)

I look forward to some fantastic photos celebrating on the road!

Al.

I decided to go with this photo as it is really on the road and I felt a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush or tree in this case:rofl:

A few years ago now, but after packing the car to go away I needed a photo so I could repack for the return trip.

All available space under the seats and between kids was also full.

This image was taken last month. I'd planned the trip for dawn shots and when I woke up at 3.15am it was pouring rain. I lay there in my nice warm bed with my little Siamese cat Honey cuddled up beside me, and did briefly wonder if it was just me, or if all photographers are insane, but decided clouds would be more interesting anyway then blue skies.

All,

I went out to Booroomba Rocks with Barry Armstead (bloodhound31) to try and image the peak of the Orionids a couple of months back.

Whilst waiting for Orion to rise, I thought I'd image the setting Milky Way.

The rest of the night was a bit of a fizzer as far as the meteor shower went (we saw a couple), but, it was great to finally meet Barry and have a chat.

Treat this as twilight fantasy with its roots based in reality.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM

Comments, critique, etc., welcome.

I went for a walk up to Observatory Hill at lunch time yesterday and the cutting on the way to the Harbour Bridge is quite spectacular.

Just remembered about this photo I took a while back and thought it was quite fitting for this month's theme.

Imagine driving along and seeing this on the road, in the middle of the roundabout in fact.

Gives me a chuckle every time I think of it, yes it's a Form Meteorite.

Someone's got a quirky sense of humour.
