Hi All,

Imaged Jupiter Dec 5th in good seeing 6/10. It is unusual for the seeing to be good so close to twilight in the summer out here in the bush.

But is was quite nice last night and I was able to get 3 nice RGB's at approx 30 min intervals. At the moment by about 10:15 CSST Jupiter is setting over the roof of my neighbors house and I start to have problems with heat radiating into the atmosphere from the house.

These are the highest res Jupiter's I have taken since early November.
Ganymede is to the East and its shadow is transiting in the 3rd image.

The SEB is very quite while there is incredible turmoil in the NEB. There is some very fine detail in the STrZ, several spots in a line that are very well defined.

Due to the amount of data capture with Jupiter last night and Mars this morning I haven't processed another set of Jupiter's to align Ganymede or its shadow.

Thanks for looking.
Regards
Trevor

Thanks Clayton, even though it is getting lower Jupiter is still better positioned for us than it has been for a lot of amateurs in the Northern Hemisphere.

Thanks Anthony, I must say I was beginning to think that Jupiter was becoming a bit of a lost cause. I really was most surprised at how stable the live feed was, although we did have the benefit of a slow moving high pressure system to the south.

Thanks Kev, I think a lot of people have become bored with Jupiter but it is still important to capture data on it for as long as possible to follow the changes in the SEB and NEB.

Thanks Mike, I think I have come a long way with my Jupiter work this year and I was most satisfied with these, with Jupiter a long way past its prime position for us in Australia. It was nice making very high re images back near opposition but it just as satisfying now to catch the occasional image in seeing that occasionally, is much better than expected.

Thanks very much Petra, so glad you enjoyed them, rest assured I enjoyed making them.
